Introduction to BPM

This workshop will introduce you to the business process management discipline, including business strategies, methodologies and technologies. A high-level overview of BPM components, workflow patterns and use cases will be covered. At the end of the workshop, participants will be familiar with the practices and the tactics that are making BPM the most exciting new approach to solving business problems with new technologies today.

Process Modeling with BPMN

Today, BPMN is the clear defacto standard for business process modeling, especially when the ultimate goal is a process implementation solution. BPM Suites from Oracle, SAP, Tibco, Intalio, Lombardi and Savvion are BPMN-based, and more are moving to the standard. This course is about showing you how to use BPMN correctly and effectively, and how to make the most of recent studies on workflow patterns to optimize your process discovery and modeling journey.

Process Simulation and Optimization

BPM is about global performance continuous improvement and adequate change management, aligned with organization’s strategy. Yet, how to positively communicate the advantages of such changes, before any implementation is done? This is exactly where simulation and optimization methods come to help decision makers. This workshop will show you concrete ways to conduct advanced analysis of the BPM value proposition, while taking into account your own business model.

Process Execution and Monitoring

This workshop will lead you from process modeling in BPMN to real-time execution and monitoring in a controlled BPMS environment. You will then be able to apply advanced workflow patterns, design user experience and interface it to web services, and then deploy your design in standard BPEL to run in the BPMS. A live dashboard will also allow you to track key performance indicators to monitor your process activities.
